Yes, I'm smack in the middle of my next Johns Creek Second Chances novel, and I'm happy. I had put it down for quite a while because I knew what I wanted to accomplish, but couldn't figure out how to execute it. I think there were just too many things going on for me to be able to concentrate on it. But I had a nice little writing jag yesterday (not the 10,000 words I hoped for, but a respectable 3,000) and the wrinkles I found are starting to smooth out and the mental block I had seems to be fading away. The surprising thing is that the book seems to be leading me to a different direction, still along the same plot line, but with different ways to get there, and I like where it's going. It's opening me up for a few more books in the series that I hadn't thought of before, so it's all good. At this point, I'm on track to finish the first draft in a month or so, then it's off to the editing races! Stay tuned for more details.
